Yes, this question made me very angry too WTF.
My friend has a large financial obligation that he does not feel he has the resources to ever settle this debt. he is considering bankruptcy to eliminate this and other bills.
Can he put this in his bankruptcy, or is it 1 that has to be paid?
good answers everyone, it helps to know not everyone believes the magic eraser fairy can take it some away:)
some answers were wonderful, and of my same mindset. I chose Uwishuk because he is a claims adjuster. Thanks everyone.

Can she "put it in her bankruptcy"?
she can’t pick and choose what goes in and what goes out of her bankruptcy.
she tells the court everything she owns and everything she owes, and the court decides what she has to do.
she’ll still owe the obligation and will have to pay it out in whatever fashion the court tells her to.

Nope, not at all.
Bankruptcy doesn’t somehow make it so she wasn’t in an accident.
She is still responsible for those damages.
And I’m glad to see that you’re angry about it, as this seems like a completely weak way to get out of responsibilities.

She could include it but that is a cop out.
I would ask her, How she would feel if she and her insurance company were owed the money, and the person obligated to pay her took the easy way instead of paying the consequences.
Sorry, but these kind of situations irk me
