  • may I be willing and able to find a job as a nurse if I file for bankruptcy?

I’m studying to become a nurse, however I am struggling financially and may have to file for bankruptcy before I finish school and become a nurse, may I be willing and able to get hired as a nurse or may they look at my credit and say that they can’t hire me b/c I wasn’t financially responsible. I’m going crazy worrying how the bankruptcy may affect my ability to get the best job. Does anyone know what importance does credit history play when it comes to getting hired for medical jobs?

  • If I file for bankruptcy overseas and I have a consumer credit card there, may it affect my credit here?

If I need to file bankruptcy in a country, say australia or new zealand, and I’m living in Europe, if I had a VISA or Mastercard I owed money on, does it affect some banking services I use in Europe?

I use a VISA debit card in Europe at the moment.
And also does VISA share it is credit report worldwide? I don’t seem to have some credit history in Europe as I’ve merely lived here a few years. may the bank tell them I am overseas and may it affect some VISA cards I could use here?

    Thanks

  • If I file bankruptcy this year, may some of my bad credit history still be described on my credit report?

Someone told me that even if you file bankruptcy, some of your past bad credit history would still be described on your credit report to be viewed by anyone who requests it along with the fact that you have filed bankruptcy. Is this true?
What you’re saying is not true SmartA$$…people can get loans pretty quickly even before filing bankruptcy and I know quite a few that have done so. For myself, that was not my intent anyway…I just thought that the fact that it says "bankruptcy filed" was damage enough without having to list some the crap you are no longer responsible for.

  • can I become a cop with a recent bankruptcy?

I have no major issues besides this. No felonies, no drug history, no criminal record or anything. I had a bankruptcy written off about a year ago. I had 2 things in collections but I paid those off a week ago. The background investigator said there’s a chance I could be DQ’d because of the bankruptcy and credit history. With everything else being fairly clean with me do you think I may be willing and able to make it even though I have this on my record?

  • Should I disclose a recent bankruptcy to a potential employer?

I am investigating a new job. I recently filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and was wondering if I should or have to disclose this information to some potential employers during the interview process? I know that some applications ask you to sign for background checks and credit history checks. I am afraid that if I do not disclose the bankruptcy in an interview this may look like I am hiding something and may keep me from getting a job that I really want.

  • Could we be seeing the start of the good depression, likely to hit ‘11 – ‘14?

With subprimes coming to an end (about time), Now it’s time for the Option-arms and Alternative A-papers, which may tack on another trillion or so in write offs for companies which are already tinkering on bankruptcy (even with the bailout)

then in about 2-3 years, we’re going to see the credit crash as those millions of americans who have tens of thousands in credit card debt and other non-mortage loans default, in particular if they start to lose jobs / give up as buying power decreases.

Heck, In my ranked MBA program, a vast majority of my fellow students have 10-25k in credit card debts which they just plan on paying off with his "high paying" MBA jobs- which they aren’t getting because everyone has hiring freezes. If these are supposed to be some of the "smart ones" one of us, what do you make of the rest?

Although in the financial discussions, there seems to be backlash against the media for saying that the "majority of americans" are in MAJOR debt, as in fact it’s merely a "very small percentage" (44%). Now, these articles are literally stating 44% is a small percentage- and that 55% are being very good trying to pay his bills off in time. However, I also read that the majority of bankruptcy’s are people who "do not spend wildly, but are in debt to to other reasons such as loss of jobs or health problems". If the job market turns downwards, buying power decreases, and salaries don’t keep up with inflation would that not suggest that even those who "try" are likely to rack up more debt? and isn’t it likely that this 44% is likely to increase to 50, 55%? In this case we are saying atleast nearly 50%, and potentially more than 50% are likely to run into major credit and debt issues?

Then with credit card companies such as American Express already tinkering on bankruptcy, a CC card company going under would merely contribute to the fun.

That in itself could be the next good depression. What do you think?

Now I could be taking this a little far, and I don’t expect anyone to agree with me beyond this, however, I raise yet another question- If over 1/2 of america loses his buying power and credit-worthyness some together, based on what I see in the Government now, I would presume that they would feel the need to step into action, and bailout the individuals- and in this situation, it seems like the merely action which they could do is to take control over many aspects of the country, essentially creating an extreme socialist culture overnight.

Although I have my savings spread in Euros, Rupees, and Dollars, the intense globalization occurring as of the last 10 years means that money isn’t safe anywhere. So now I’m thinking maybe I should just rack up 30k in debt since I’ll be in the doghouse with everyone else anyway, and 5-10 years from now we’re some going to be in the same position whether we have 000 in the bank, or -000 in our credit history.

  • Can my credit score keep me from qualifying for a corporate credit card at work?

My new employer wants to give me a corporate credit card for work-related expenses, and I’m worried that a bankruptcy that I filed 2 years ago might get me turned down for it. Is my credit history a factor here, or just my employers’?

  • Is it better to file for bankruptcy before turning in a leased vehicle before the contract is due?

I was told by a car dealership salesman that the merely way I could get into a car was through a lease, so I did. I have not had the vehicle for a year yet, but have put about 40K miles on it and am having a difficult time making the lease payment and paying the considerably higher insurance requried. I want to turn it back in, but am unsure about how much money they are going to try and bill me for for the mileage and wear and tear, and a host of other penalties etc. may they put a lien against my home for this, garnish wages, etc.? Would filing bankruptcy before turning it back to them protect me from this? Would a bankruptcy be better than a repo on my credit history?
