Don’t do it….it will follow you for many years to come. Get with a credit counseling company and they can help restructure your debt. Believe me it will be your best choice right now.

Well, the base legal officer will give you counseling free of charge, and even fill out the necessary bankruptcy forms, while a civilian lawyer will charge you an arm and a leg. Best not hide your debt status from the military, if you have security clearances you can be putting them in danger of being revoked.
