If someone commits bankruptcy fraud, should it be reported to the authorities?
The person declared bankruptcy and transferred the assets he/he owned immediately before the bankruptcy to another person? his/his lawyer assisted his/him. Should he get in trouble also? Should the Trustee be notified???

Is a Chapter 7 debtor's home mortgage limited to reaffirmation, redemption or surrender, before exempt?
I am waiting for my attorney to get back to me the following week. In the meantime if anyone knows the answer to this, I would really appreciate it. I have already filed and had my court date for my Chapter 7 bankruptcy. My Chapter 7 bankruptcy may be finalized on January 30 2007, and I may be released of some unsecured debt.
On my "Debtors Statement of Intention" document, we put "Surrender" for my car, and that’s exactly what I’m doing with it.
For my house we put "Exempt" which made the equity exempt and allowed me to keep the home without a forced sale. The problem and question is with my home. The mortgage company’s lawyer is pressuring me to "Reaffirm" by January 30. he says of I don’t sign the reaffirm agreement then it may default to "Redeem" "Redeem" seems to mean pay a lump sum or surrender the property? The question is; Is a Chapter 7 debtor’s home mortgage limited to reaffirmation, redemption or surrender, before Exempt? My attorney says there is a 5th choice, do nothing. -

What is an estimated rate we might qualify for on a mortgage?
Hi I was wondering if anyone might know (or had simular issues) what an estimated mortgage rate would be for us. We would pre-qualify, but we are trying to keep our credit inquiries down as we may (hopefully) be looking to buy in the next year. Here is our situation:
* Married first time home buyers. Median FICO’s of 568 and 571
* I filed Bankruptcy 2 years ago. My Husband has not filed bankruptcy before.
* I have been in the same field for 6 years.
*Husband has been a full time student.
*We and have paid off some outstanding debts except 1 car payment of 0 and a student loan of 0 each month both with excellent payment history.
*Our approx gross income is ,000/year.
*We have ,000-,000 for downpayment.
*Neither of us have a current rental history as my company takes care of our living arrangements (medical traveler).some comments or thoughts? Thank you
If the rate we are given is high (sounds like it may be) then if there is no penalties, Would it be likely that we could refinance in a few years before esablishing payment history and having better credit scores?
